The fifth season
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Galatians 6:9, NKJV)
In school, we that there are four seasons – winter, spring, summer, and fall, and each has its own characteristics that help to distinguish it from the others. In winter it’s cold, in spring it’s warm, in summer it’s hot, and in fall it’s cool. Scientists discovered that Earth has seasons because the planet’s axis of rotation is tilted at a 23.5-degree angle relative to the planet’s orbit around the sun.
But in the grand scheme of things, could we have mistakenly miscounted the number of seasons? Is it possible there is a fifth season we overlook? The answer is unequivocally “YES.” The fifth which season is “DUE” season!
Examples of people in the Bible who experienced a “due” season include:
David: David endured years of running from King Saul and living in obscurity before his “due” season came. He was eventually anointed king and united Israel, fulfilling the promises made to him (1 Samuel 16; 2 Samuel 5).
Ruth: Ruth’s “due” season came after her loyalty and hard work gleaning in the fields. Her faithfulness and dedication led to her marriage to Boaz and her inclusion in the lineage of King David and Jesus (Ruth 2-4).
Daniel: Daniel’s faithfulness through trials, including being thrown into the lions’ den, led to his “due” season when his unwavering faith was rewarded with high favor and influence in Babylon (Daniel 6).
To experience the “FIFTH” season which is your “DUE” season of reaping what God has for you, remember Galatians 6:9 which encourages you to not grow weary while doing good (never get tired, exhausted or fatigued of doing the next right thing in every situation you are confronted with) and be careful not to lose heart (don’t get deterred, depressed, or doubtful)!
